Advocacy Effort Delays RCD

Texas Association for Home Care & Hospice Announcement 10/21/19

As TAHC&H members found out first this morning, Advocacy DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE! CMS announced the delay of RCD implementation until March 2 for Texas. They also decided to delay the choice period until Jan. 15, 2020 through Feb. 13, 2020.

As the statewide association for Texas Home Care agencies, we jumped into action to advocate for everyone in our letters to CMS and to our Texas delegation. We also met with CMS to discuss the challenges each of you would face in trying to implement RCD so close to the roll out of PDGM.

Everyone should see the value of your participation in advocacy as it does work! That said, ensuring you are properly prepared is also critical. Remember to sign up for our November administrator conference to hear from Palmetto GBA directly on RCD implementation. Ensuring you are well prepared before the storm of PDGM that is moving forward Jan. 1, 2020 will be critical to your success with both PDGM and RCD.
