Part 2: Hospice and Palliative Care

As we continue celebrating National Home Health and Hospice month, we wanted not only to celebrate those who work in the Hospice field, but also those in the field of palliative care. We’re often asked the difference between the two.

The two have similarities, but palliative care specifically focuses on easing pain and discomfort, reducing stress and helping people have the highest quality of life possible. Hospice care focuses on quality of life when a cure is no longer possible, or the burdens of treatment outweigh the benefits.

Both areas of palliative and hospice are often extremely stressful not only for patients, but also for families of loved ones who are receiving this kind of care.

Our dedicated, caring and highly trained staff know the importance of caring for individuals receiving palliative or hospice care. We salute the tremendous dedication to all those in these areas of medical expertise and thank those families and loved ones who have utilized our services during these most difficult times.

It is most rewarding to be able to assist and comfort those in both palliative and hospice care and send our deepest gratitude for allowing us into the many homes we visit every day during what is often the most difficult of times.

As we set aside November for specific focus on home health and hospice care, we take this profession seriously and with honor 365 days a year with the greatest of compassion for all in need.
